Nascido no Lavradio (Barreiro) em Abril de 1972, iniciou os seus estudos musicais aos 11 anos. Iniciou o estudo oficial de Oboé no Conservatório Regional de Setúbal, vindo a concluir no Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa com o professor Lopes da Cruz.
Desde 1991 ocupa funções de solista em Oboé e Corne Inglês, na Banda da Armada. Desde 2001, nesta mesma instituição, acumula funções de chefe de naipe, bem como de professor de Oboé.
Tem como actividade paralela à de instrumentista a de realizar transcrições e arranjos para diversos agrupamentos, com especial incidência nas diversas formações de palhetas duplas
É elemento do Ensemble de Palhetas Duplas, bem como Presidente da Mesa da Assembleia Geral da Associação Portuguesa de Palhetas Duplas.

Born in Lavradio (Barreiro) in April 1972, he began his musical studies at the age of 11. He officially started studying the oboe at the Regional Conservatory of Setúbal, later completing his studies at the National Conservatory of Lisbon under Professor Lopes da Cruz.
Since 1991, he has held the position of soloist on oboe and English horn in the Portuguese Navy Band. Since 2001, within the same institution, he has also served as section leader and oboe teacher.
In addition to his work as a performer, he is also active in creating transcriptions and arrangements for various ensembles, with a particular focus on double reed formations.
He is a member of the Double Reed Ensemble, as well as the President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Double Reed Association.
