Rui Lima é natural de Lourosa . Aveiro, frequentou a Academia de Música de Paços de Brandão, onde estudou piano, coro e formação musical.
Em 2017 licenciou-se em Biologia na Universidade de Aveiro após um estágio integrado em Ecotoxicologia e vários trabalhos relacionados de voluntariado.
Paralelo à licenciatura estudou composição com Evgueni Zoudilkine e José Luís Postiga, e direção com António Vassalo Lourenço na Universidade de Aveiro. Desde 2016, as suas composições originais têm vindo a ser interpretadas, experimentando várias participações em grupos de música e teatro, desde música de câmara, eletrónica, fusão de grupos (fado, rock, pagode e filarmônicos), orquestras juvenis, e especialmente grupos corais. No teatro, através da organização de eventos, composição musical, escrita de texto e performance.
As suas obras originais têm uma considerável inspiração na paisagem e no ambiente, cruzando-se com as ciências naturais, explorando o soundscaping.
Sob a orientação da compositora Isabel Soveral, criou a obra final de Mestrado, “CHORAL MOONS” (2019-2020), onde expõem as luas do sistema solar numa narrativa artística, integrando investigação científica (musical, linguística, estética, astronomia e astrogeologia). Na investigação resultante desse trabalho (2020-21) expôs o processo de criação da obra e a interação entre artistas-criadores, mostrando a relação da música com a área visual, poético-literária, espaço-instalação e objeto de inspiração artística.

Rui Lima was born in Lourosa . Aveiro, and attended the Music Academy of Paços de Brandão, where he studied piano, choir and musical training.
In 2017 he graduated in Biology at the University of Aveiro after an integrated internship in Ecotoxicology and several related volunteer works.
Alongside his degree, he studied composition with Evgueni Zoudilkine and José Luís Postiga, and direction with António Vassalo Lourenço at the University of Aveiro. Since 2016, his original compositions have been performed, experimenting with various
participations in music and theater groups, from chamber music, electronics, group fusion (fado, rock, pagode and philharmonics), youth orchestras, and especially choral groups.
With theatre, he gained experience through the organization of events, musical
composition, text writing and performance.
His original works take considerable inspiration from the landscape and the environment, intersecting with the natural sciences, exploring soundscaping.
Under the supervision of composer Isabel Soveral, he created his Masters’ degree final work, “CHORAL MOONS” (2019-2020), which exposes the moons of the solar system in an artistic narrative and integrating scientific research (musical, linguistic, aesthetic, astronomy and astrogeology). With the resulting research from this project (2020-21), he exposed the process of creation of the work and the interaction between artists-creators, showing the relationship between music and the visual art, poetic-literary, installation-space and object of artistic inspiration.
