Catarina Gomes began her musical studies in 2003 at the School of Music of Filarmónica do Sagrado Coração de Jesus e Maria, Chãs, and joined Orfeão de Leiria – Conservatório de Artes in 2005, concluding the 8th grade.
She participated in the Netherlands KlarinetFestival (2016), in Amsterdam, where she worked with Olivier Patey, Ralph Manno, Vicent Alberola, Arno Piters, Jesse Faber, Hans Colbers, Harmen de Boer, Céleste Zewald and Davide Lattuada; and in the Gran Canaria Clarinet Festival (2018) where she worked with Nicholas Cox, Radovan Cavallin, Javier Llopis and Laura Sanchez. He has also worked with Michel Arrignon, Etienne Lamaison, Camilo Irizo, Eric Mandat, Robert Spring, Victor Pereira, Nuno Pinto, Justo Sanz, Marie Barrière, and Jordi Pons.
Throughout his professional career, she has worked under the direction of conductors Jean-Sébastien Bérreau, Ernst Schelle, Alberto Roque, Christopher Bochmann, Jan Wierzba, Kodo Yamagishi, Rui Pinheiro, José Eduardo Gomes, André Granjo, Yan Mikirtumov, and Délio Gonçalves.
Catarina completed her Bachelor's Degree in Music (Clarinet) at the University of Évora in 2017, in the class of Professor Ana Maria Santos, and finished her Master's Degree in Music Teaching at the same institution, guided by Professor Ana Telles Béreau.
Catarina is a sponsored artist by Reeds (France) since 2018 and is currently teaching clarinet at the Conservatório de Música Jaime Chavinha.
