It is known that I am very fond of animals – and that I always wanted them to be near me, specially at my house. Back in Vienna, one of my favorites was my cat Barnabé. He was a very particular cat, who used to go out at every night in digression through the neighborhood’s roofs, returning so late that I had already fallen asleep…Once, I woke up at dawn e noticed he had not returned – and there I was, with an insomnia, opting to change my bed for the piano, composing with the damper pedal low, waiting Barnabé to come back.
And finally, when indeed he came, the sun was rising, and the piece which I compose during such an anxious remain, would be dedicated to its inspirer…
