Ines Vaz was born on 10th July, 1988, in Lisbon. She began her musical studies at age 6, with Professor Jose Antonio Sousa at Semibreve Musical School. In addition to studying the accordion, as her main instrument, Ines Vaz also studied Chamber Music with Professor Paulo Jorge Ferreira.
From an early age she was distinguished with prestigious awards on accordion solo and Chamber Music. Her academic career at the musical level was mainly dedicated to the classical /contemporary style, although her growing interest in Jazz led her to study harmony and improvisation with Professors Antonio Palma and Victor Prieto.
In her academic career, she also took the Pharmaceutical Sciences Course, completed in 2011 at Instituto Superior de Ciencias da Saude Egas Moniz.
Versatility is one of its most striking features.
Ines divides her life between teaching accordion and piano, live performance, cine-concerts, composition and musical production.
Her most recente projects are the instrumental duo Ciranda (accordion and trumpet), and Velvet Quintet (accordion and string quartet).
She has already collaborated as a soloist with the Gulbenkian Orchestra and Choir, and Camerata Atlantica. She has collaborated and collaborates with several artists, most notably Vitorino and Salvador Sobral.
Her debut solo álbum is called “Timeless Suite”, published by Jugular Publishing in November 2021.
She has participated in several concerts of international level, highlighting live performances in Germany, Austria, Canada, Spain, France, England, Norway, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Russia and Taiwan.
