Isabel Calado plays harpsichord, clavichord and fortepiano. She performs regularly, solo, chamber and orquestral music, in Portugal, Spain, France, United Kingdom, United States of America, Singapore and Japan. She currently teaches Harpsichord and Basso Continuo in Conservatório de Música do Porto. She has been regularly invited since 2015 to teach harpsichord and chamber music masterclasses in Japan. She holds a superior degree in Music (Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa - Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa), Master in Music Teaching (Universidade Católica Portuguesa) and PhD in Musicology - speciality Historical Musicology (Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas - Universidade Nova de Lisboa). She received the merit prize of Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa for her accomplishments in the year 2004/2005. She worked with early music renowned international specialists such as: Ilton Wjuniski, Ketil Haugsand, Yves Rechsteiner, Chiara Banchini, Lawrence Cummings, Carole Cerasi and Rinaldo Alessandrini. Since 2010 she investigates Portuguese musical sources from the 18th and 19th centuries with frequent elaboration of arrangements.She published several CDs: Works by F. Couperin, "Sonatas, Toccatas and Minuetos - Autores Portugueses do século XVIII", "Canções Populares Portuguesas", Canções Populares Portuguesas 2", "Prussian Sonatas - C. P. E. Bach", "Probestücke - C. P. E. Bach" and "Modinhas". In 2019 she published the book "Ornamentation Described by C. P. E. Bach".
