Luís Miguel Leite is a guitarrista with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minho and a Master’s degree in Music Teaching from the Institute of Education of the University of Minho.
Born in August 30th, 1993, from the city of Fafe, he began his study of music in the José Atalaya Music Academy, where he completed the 8th degree of instrument with the maximum grade. In 2013 he went on to the University of Minho (ILCH – Department of Music), and joined the class of Doctor Ricardo Barceló, where he was highlighted for his assessments of merit in guita rand chamber music. In 2019 he completed the Master’s degree in Music Teaching in the Institute of Education of the University of Minho.
Awarded and distinguished in dozens of nacional and internacional contests of classic guitar, of which stand out: the Internacional Luigi Mozzani Classic Guitar Festival (Vibo, Valentia – Italy) in 2011; the Juan Crisóstomo Arriaga Guitar Contest (Bilbao – Spain) in 2014; the Luso-Espanhol Contest (Fafe – Portugal) in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2013;
With regard to discography, in 2019 he released his first solo work entitled “Classical Guitar”, in 2015 he recorded with the OPGB the album entitled “Pleiades”, in 2020 he interpreted and recorded the work from composer Yuri Umemoto (Japan) “Dawning” (work to which he was dedicated) for the album “Dream Sandwich”. His music has already been present on Portuguese radio stations such as Antena 2, among others.
He is part of the group of interpreters at the Portuguese Music Research & Information Center and is readily dedicated to the interpretation of works by Portuguese composers. He performs teaching duties at the Music Academy of Sociedade Filarmónica Vizelense.
