Miguel Clemente do Carmo de Oliveira Carvalho was born in Porto on September 29th, 1969. He attends music classes in May 1985 at the extinct Music Community Band “Banda Musical de Ramalde”, Porto.
In September 1987 he starts his degree in Mathematics at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Porto. He completes his degree in June 1993.
He decides to be a part-time Math’s teacher to pay his music studies, as he always intended to.
He usually says to his friends: "Math is a friendship and music is a love, a passion."
In September 1994, he persues his studies for Saxophone performance witch he ends in in July 1997.
Later that same year, he starts another degree –Teaching Music, Music Theory and Training, at the University of Aveiro. He ends it in 2002.
In 2002 he stopped teaching Mathematics to teach only Music.
Between April 2015 and July 2018 he attended composition classes with Professor Evgueny Zoudilkine: he considers him his great Mentor and Master!
In September 2018, he begins Mestre Degree in Music Teaching, specializing in Analysis and Composition Techniques (ACT) at “Instituto Piaget de Viseu”. In 2019/20 academic year, he carries out his supervised teaching practice at the Music Conservatory of Paredes under the guidance of the cooperating professor “Mestre” André Rodrigues and the scientific guidance of “Doutor” Samuel Peruzzolo Vieira.
The subject of his final report of supervised teaching practice was “Empirical Intuitive Composition: a bridge to composition techniques in ACT”.
In June 2021 he completes the Masters.
Nowadays he teaches at the music conservatory “Conservatório de Música Terras de Santa Maria”.
Nowadays he teaches at the music Conservatory of Terras de Santa Maria (previous Music Conservatory of Fornos) and he is a self-taught composer.
