Nuno Jacinto is a portuguese composer, musician, teacher, conductor, music critic and concert lecturer born in Funchal, Madeira. He studied Music Composition in Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espectáculo (ESMAE-IPP) in Oporto, with teachers João Madureira, Nuno Côrte-Real, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Clarence Barlow, Carlos Guedes and Klaas de Vries. In 2015, he concluded the Master degree in Music Teaching by Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP).
As a composer, his repertoire includes instrumental, choral, vocal, electronics and didactic works. His works have been performed in several cities and festivals in Portugal and abroad. His works have been recorded in several music discographic projects.
As a teacher, he has worked in several music schools. He currently teaches at ArtEduca – Conservatório de Música de Vila Nova de Famalicão and in Academia de Música de Vilar de Paraíso. He has also collaborated in several teaching institutions, like Meloteca, as coach of Music Technology for Teachers. He has co-authored a book of Music Education pedagogical essays by Porto Editora, aiming specifically at music teachers. As a music critic, he writes reviews in “Da Capo” magazine and for the MisoMusic platform In 2011, his first discographic work “Diagnosis” came out by the label Numérica (NUM 1223).
His current works are published by AVA Musical Editions.
