Born in Baião in 1976, at age 10 he began his musical studies in the Martial Band of Ancêde. In 1998 continued is studies in the Conservatory of Music of Porto in the trumpet class of Professor Manuel Azevedo. That same year he the Course of Sergeants, Musician - Trompete - at the Army Sergeants School that concludes in 2001, joining the Army Bands and Fanfares.
In 2010 it was accepted in the Composition course of the Superior School of Music of Oporto. He was a student of Professor Pedro Santos, Eugénio Amorim, Dimitris Andrikopoulos, Carlos Guedes, Carlos Azevedo, Rui Penha, Filipe Lopes, Filipe Vieira, José Abreu and Daniel Moreira.
In 2012 he had his premiered and directed his work "Tempestade" for string quartet and bass clarinet and participated in the concert EUROCLASSICAL with the work "Mirum Sonum" for solo trombone. On February 25, 2013, ESMAE's symphoniet, under the direction of Maestro Raf De Keninck, premiered "Flash's" for orchestra. In May, the R & D ensemble, directed by Professor and Maestro Eugénio Amorim, premiered his work “Trilhos".
In 2013 he had accepted in the Master in Composition and Musical Theory, at the Superior School of Music and Arts of the Spectacle, with the orientation of Prof. Doctor Dimitris Andrikopoulos, on the subject "Computer-Assisted Wind-Up Composition”.
On November 30, 2014, in the II National Festival of Music Bands of the Gondomar City Hall & Portuguese Symphonic Band, the Army Band - Porto detachment premiere the piece "Terra, o Planeta ..." for Symphonic Band. At the same time he receives the order from RTP, within the scope of the 29th edition of the "Young Musicians Prize" competition and writes "new approaches ..." - Toccata for Trompete in B flat alone edited by Scherzo Editions.
In 2015 he concludes his Masters in Composition and Musical Theory with premiere in concert, by the Band of the Army - Porto detachment, the works "Low Brass" - for ensemble of metals and percussion; "ArTheSt" - for ensembles of Saxophones and Percussion; And “Um momento no tempo ..." - for Symphonic Band.
In 2016 he composed "New Approaches II" - Toccata for Trumpet and Solo Tenor Saxophone with Symphonic Band. It premieres, by own in the trumpet, on March 30, with the Portuguese Army Symphonic Band.
He has participated in seminars with the composers: Betty Olivero, Emmanuel Nunes, Ivo Medek, Saariaho kaija, Pascal Dusapin and Unsuk Chin.
He is currently in the Army Band, Detachment of Oporto. He is a lecturer in the disciplines of Music Education, Auditory Training and Ensemble Class in the music school Movimentos e Variações.
In parallel he continues his activity as a composer, with the satisfaction of several orders for writing works; Or for solo instruments, with or without accompaniment; As well as numerous arrangements for various instruments, from wind instruments, percussion, strings and voice ensembles.
