Lino Guerreiro was born in 1977. He began his musical studies at the age of nineteen. He finished the 8th degree in Saxophone in Conservatório Nacional de Lisboa, as well as the remaining curriculum. He studied composition at the secondary level with the composer Daniel Schevtz. In 2008, he finished the Composition Course at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa, Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa (IPL), where he studied with the composers, Carlos Caires, Christopher Bochmann, José Luís Ferreira and Sérgio Azevedo, in the specific area of composition, and with other composers such as Carlos Marecos, João Madureira, Roberto Perez, Benoît Gibson, in the remaining curricular areas. In 2012, he completed his Master’s Degree in Music in the area of Composition at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (IPL), under the supervision of the composer António Pinho Vargas. In 2012, he completed his Master’s Degree in Music Education – area of specialization in Composition, at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa (IPL), under the supervision of António Pinho Vargas, Carlos Marecos and Francisco Cardoso. Currently he is attending the PhD Program in Music and Musicology at Escola de Artes da Universidade de Évora, under the supervision of Eduardo Lopes. His activity as a composer is mainly in the area of wind and percussion instruments. He currently collaborates with the publishers “Arpejo Editora“, “AVA Musical Editions“, “MIC“, “ROSSIO Music Publishing” and “SCOMEGNA, Edizioni Musicali s.r.l.“. He is the director of the project mixEnsemble, a musical project whose philosophy is to serve music and artists, within different musical contexts for the most varied purposes. He is currently professor of Analysis and Techniques of Composition and Chamber Music, in the Conservatório de Música D. Dinis, in Odivelas, and professor of Theory and Music Analysis and Chamber Music, in the Escola Profissional da Metropolitana. Since September 1st, 2020, is Director of Studies at Escola Profissional da Metropolitana.
