Colombian composer born in 1977. After studying music from age 13, undertakes composition studies at the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga, under the guidance of Blas Emilio Atehortúa. Obtains a masters degree in composition at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama under the guidance of Andrew Wilson-Dickson and the doctoral degree at the National Autonomous University of México under the guidance of Antonio Baldassarre, Manuel Rocha Iturbide and Ignacio Baca-Lobera. His composition portfolio comprice works for soloist and chamber music, electronic pieces, concerts and orchestral pieces, wich have been played in Argentina, Germany, Great Britain, México and Colombia, by important international groups such as the BBC Symphonic Orchestra in Wales, the PM ensamble, and the Contemporary Music Group of Lisboa (GMCL). He has been awarded the ICETEX Scholarship, UIS Scholarship for doctoral studies, the Sir Geraint Evans Scholarship in Great Britain, and He has obtained the second Price Award in the GMCL/Jorge Pexinho composition competition, the first Price in the David Harries Memorial Award in Great Britain, and the first place in the “Ciudad de Bogotá” composition competition. Autor of articles in musicological journals such as Carlos Vega Institute for musicological research magazine in Argentina, and A contratiempo Magazine in Colombia, at the moment He currently works as a teacher, academic coordinator, and researcher in the Music School at Industrial University of Santander, Colombia.
