Nove miniaturas Açorianas (Nine Azorean Miniatures) is a work originally composed for piano and marimba (it was premiered in the Azores with Artur Pizarro playing piano and the composer playing marimba) and is arranged for bass clarinet and piano. This piece was inspired by the very geography of the Islands - specifically in the chronological order of the discovery of each of them - but does not show the influence of any traditional Azorean music.
